Dodgers pitcher Roki Sasaki pitched three simulated innings, facing batters on the mound at Dodger Stadium a few hours before Friday night’s series opener against the Blue Jays.

Sasaki has been on the injured list since May 13 with a right shoulder impingement. On Friday the right-hander faced a few Dodgers minor league hitters as well as outfielder Alex Call, throwing 46 pitches.

Manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Sasaki touched 97 mph with his fastball on Friday. It’s unknown yet whether his next time on a mound will be in a minor league rehab game or another simulated game. From Beth Harris at Associated Press:
