As someone who was born and raised in Arizona, the Grand Canyon has always been more than just a tourist destination; it has been an integral part of my family's story. It was one of the few places we could afford to visit while growing up, and some of my earliest memories are of standing in awe at its rim with my uncle, trying to wrap my head around something so vast, so beautiful, that it looked more like a postcard than a real place.
