LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A loud garbage truck, plastic straws and the talk of trashing a legacy.

Kentucky politics can be a free-for-all, especially when a primary holds the weight of a general election to replace one of the most powerful figures in American history.

You could feel the urgency from the campaigns of the state's three high-profile Republican U.S. Senate candidates, hours before they even arrived at the famed Fancy Farm picnic on Aug. 2. All three are fighting for one thing: President Donald Trump's endorsement.
