LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The legacy of Beecher Terrace was honored with a celebration on Saturday.
District 4 Metro Councilman Ken Herndon invited the community for the annual Beecher Terrace Day at Baxter Park filled community unity and family friendly activities.
Mitzi Wilson, one of the organizers of the event, said it is a big deal the Beecher Terrace community comes back together again.
“We see people that we grew up with, our moms grew up with, our grandmothers grew up with – so we take this day seriously,” she said. “When we get together, we have a great time.”
The original Beecher Terrace was built in the 1930s running between Ninth Street, Muhammad Ali, West Jefferson Street and 12th Street.
