LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Floyds Knobs’ time in the Little League Softball World Series has come to an end.

It would be the first time Indiana has made it to the championship game.

Ahead of the game, Floyds Knobs won six elimination games and strategically took their ace Briley Mercer out early in Saturday’s extra innings game so she would be ready to deal in the circle.

Mercer had 36 strikeouts in the World Series with only one earned run.

Sunday’s championship game against Pennsylvania was a pitcher’s duel.

Floyds Knobs found themselves in trouble in the fourth inning. Pennsylvania had two runners on, and a base hit up the middle. Regan Bills hit an RBI double to give Pennsylvania a 1-0 lead.

Floyds Knobs had the chance to capitalize with bases loaded in the fifth but came up short.
