Three people have been hospitalised after a shooting in a busy tourist hotspot in New York City in the early hours of this morning, August 9. The NYPD has confirmed that a 17-year-old opened fire after a verbal dispute with one of the victims at around 1.20am on West 44th Street and 7th Avenue. ‌

One person claimed he witnessed the terror and posted a clip online, stating three people were shot in New York on Saturday morning, with bullets piercing car windows. They said posting on X , formerly Twitter: "Three people have been shot in the heart of Times Square. ‌

"Bodies are on the ground, bullet holes pierce car windows. The chaos unfolded near a major tourist area. One suspect is in custody." ‌
