SHORELINE, Wash. — Life-saving efforts are underway at shelters and rescues across Washington state.

Nationally, several animal-focused organizations are taking part in "Clear the Shelters" efforts.

For Seattle Area Feline Rescue (SAFe), the funds raised during this campaign are crucial in continuing care.

SAFe outreach coordinator Lindsey Neblina spoke to KING 5 and explained what goes into supporting cats and kittens.

Funds are used to provide cats and kittens with intake exams, vaccinations, additional medical care as needed, spay or neuter, microchipping, fostering, food, and supplies.
