ROSEVILLE, Calif. —

A mountain lion sighting has been reported near Rocklin, the Rocklin Police Department said on Facebook Friday afternoon.

The cat was spotted near Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Maple Creek Drive.

"Mountain lions occasionally wander into urban environments," police said. "They usually wander back out of the area and into their natural habitat on their own."
