Tacoma Police arrested a 25-year-old man Friday in connection with a shooting that killed a man in a MultiCare Allenmore Hospital emergency room lobby.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at the 1900 block of South Union just after 7 p.m. Wednesday and found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds, the Tacoma Police Department said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman had non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital Thursday night.
The couple was in an altercation with a person outside the hospital campus, according to police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd. The shooter then followed the couple into the emergency room lobby and opened fire.
The 25-year-old was taken into custody without incident in Kittitas County, with assistance from the FBI, the U.S.
