Alabama football was without offensive guard Jaeden Roberts due to injury on Saturday as the Crimson Tide held the first of two fall scrimmages.

"Jaeden Roberts is still dinged up from the middle of the week," said UA coach Kalen DeBoer. "Stuff he's dealing with. ... I don't think it'll be a long-term thing, but I don't know his timeline necessarily."

Also held out of the scrimmage, per DeBoer, was defensive lineman James Smith, who is expected to be a significant contributor to the Crimson Tide's pass rush in 2025. Smith is "coming along," DeBoer said, and the Montgomery native is expected back on the field soon as well.
