ANACONDA – Big sigh country.
A shadow lifted.
Residents of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County embraced something akin to normalcy Saturday after the capture Friday afternoon of accused killer Michael Brown.
Authorities had believed Brown was hiding in the vicinity of a state wildlife management area off Stumptown Road west of Anaconda after allegedly killing four people Aug. 1 at the Owl Bar and fleeing in a stolen Ford pickup.
Local and state police, along with the U.S. Marshals Service and others, captured Brown at a trailer Friday around 2 p.m. several miles west of Anaconda off Montana Highway 1.
Authorities confirmed Friday evening that Brown was armed when arrested.
He is jailed at the Butte-Silver Bow County Detention Center, according to a Saturday jail roster.
