BLAIR, Neb. —

The Red Cross is helping those affected by Saturday's severe storms in eastern Nebraska.

The storms, which produced over 80 mph winds, ripped roofs off of buildings and uprooted trees , causing tens of thousands to lose power and displacing hundreds.

There will be a shelter in Blair at the First Lutheran Church, located at 2146 Wright St.

There will be volunteers at the shelter helping to provide meals and address other immediate needs for those who were displaced by the storms.

Another Red Cross center will be in Lincoln at the F Street Community Center, located at 1225 F St.

The reception center will offer snacks, water, a place to charge devices, and somewhere for people to get out of the heat.

The center will be open until 8 p.m.
