NILES, Ohio (WKBN) - The Mahoning Valley Scrappers lost game one of a two-game series, 11-3, to the West Virginia Black Bears at Eastwood Field on Saturday night.

The Scrapper's Carson Hornung, Matthew Rivera, and Patrick Roche each drove in one run apiece in the loss. Mahoning Valley's Brandon Arnold struck out two batters, and Trent Harris recorded three K's in the defeat.

Black Bear's Drew Collins drove in three runs with three hits in the victory. West Virginia's Jason Bollman also struck out eight batters in eight innings in the win.

With the loss, the Scrappers have not won since Aug. 2 with an 8-7 win against Trenton. Mahoning Valley has two ties and four wins since the last win.
