WILSONVILLE Ore. (KPTV) - Thanks to a program at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, incarcerated mothers spent Saturday playing games, doing crafts and enjoying barbecue with their children.

Sahelynn gave birth to her baby Jayden while she was incarcerated.

“Just leaving the hospital empty, you know. It was really hard,” Shaelynne said.

She said ever since she had to leave the hospital without him, she’s dreamed of having him back - not through a short visit, but with food, family and friends.

The day was made possible by a program at the prison sponsored by the Wilsonville Rotary Club called TACE - or Through A Child’s Eyes.

Charlotte Thrasher is the prison superintendent at Coffee Creek.
