NEW YORK — Mets legend Darryl Strawberry has company atop the all-time franchise home run record, and his name is Pete Alonso .

On Saturday , Alonso etched his name in the Mets’ record books with a single swing. His second inning home run, No. 252, in his career puts him in a tie with Strawberry, who is a member of the Mets’ Hall of Fame.

Alonso’s home run occurred at the site of his most famous home run — his game-winning blast off of Devin Williams in Game 3 of the 2024 NL Wild Card Series.

His next home run will officially separate him from the rest, crowning him the Mets’ all-time home run king.
