Whether you love “Outlander” for its sexy love scenes, supernatural elements, Scottish culture or deeply researched historical settings (or all of the above), you’ll likely love the new prequel series that’s landing on small screens early next month.
“Outlander: Blood of my Blood,” which premieres Aug. 8 on Starz, is a new series set in the Outlander universe, which began in 1991 with the debut of Diana Gabaldon’s novel of the same name.
In the original series, World War II nurse Claire Beauchamp travels through time from the 1940s to the 1740s, by way of a ring of mystical standing stones on a Scottish hillside. Bad news for her 20th-century husband, Frank, but great news for Jamie Fraser, the rugged 18th-century Scottish highlander with whom Claire soon falls in love.
