WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 67-year-old man died late Saturday night after falling from a moving vehicle and being struck by another car on North Patterson Avenue, according to police.

It happened at approximately 11:44 p.m. Police said Abdou Lahath Diakhate, 35, was driving a 2009 Nissan Altima southbound with passenger Mor Kane, 37, when the pedestrian, identified as Reginald Denard Carson, was seen holding onto the passenger side of the vehicle through the window.

As the Nissan slowed, Carson fell into the northbound lanes of traffic. Christian Nicole Evans, 36, was driving a 2007 Honda Accord northbound at the time and was reportedly unaware that Carson had fallen into the roadway. Her vehicle struck Carson, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
