CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Walsh Jesuit has reached the OHSAA football regional finals two straight years. With it came four extra weeks of practice that coach Nick Alexander sees paying dividends this month at practice.
“You can really see that growth,” Alexander said last week during practice, ahead of a four-team scrimmage Saturday at Nordonia.
The question around Walsh Jesuit remains the same: Can the Warriors get past Archbishop Hoban? They have met in the last two regional finals and three times in the last four years. Each time, Hoban has moved on to the state semifinals. Walsh had a 19-14 win to lean on last year, earning the region’s top seed in the regular season, but Hoban avenged that game with a 21-7 victory in the Region 5 championship.
Quarterback Keller Moten, who engineered
