ATLANTA — A 30-year-old man has been identified as the suspect in the shooting outside Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) building in Atlanta that left a DeKalb County police officer dead on Friday.
Here is what we know so far:
CDC employees will work from home on Monday as officials there say they will conduct a complete security assessment, according to the Associated Press.
Four CDC buildings were struck by gunfire. Photographs show large bullet holes in windows near workers’ desks. In one staff meeting, workers said they felt like sitting ducks during the rampage on Friday.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation released this photo from the crime scene showing dozens of shell casings on the ground.
