The Kansas City Chiefs have already been hit with some tough injury luck, with standout safety Deon Bush likely out for the entire 2025 season.

Deon Bush was carted off the field in the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals after suffering a non-contact injury. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for Bush and the Chiefs to get the worst case scenario.

Per ESPN’s Nate Taylor, Bush tore his left Achilles tendon and will likely miss the entire 2025 campaign . Head coach Andy Reid was heartbroken speaking to reporters after the game that Bush will require surgery.

“Deon was having a good [training] camp, too,” Reid said. “He’s got to have surgery on it. It’s too bad because he’s been playing really well. He’s a good kid.”
