Hot weather seen across the UK in recent weeks could last until September, the Met Office has said.

The UK looks on track to see its fourth heatwave of 2025 within days, with the mercury expected to reach the mid-30s in some parts of Britain.

But it seems the warmer conditions approaching might not be the last of the sunshine.

According to forecasters, 'temperatures will likely continue to be above normal' throughout August.

As we head into September, there 'remains potential for further hot spells'.

Above average temperatures are also predicted for the early part of September, the Met Office said.
