After another frustrating loss Friday night, the Cubs bounced back on Saturday. The offense exploded early, scoring six runs in the first two innings and at least one in each of the first five innings. This is why we don’t play baseball on paper. The Friday game looked much more encouraging than the Saturday one. The Cubs did split the two games, but they got the results “backwards.”
Before we get far, I’m going to hat tip to Colin Rea. I’ve long lumped starters in two categories. There are front end starters. I want those guys to put me in a position to win 75% of the time or more. Back end starters, are guys who I just want to keep me in the game. Matthew Boyd and Shōta Imanaga are the two guys I send out there to win games for me. Cade Horton has moved into that territory, even if you
