Saturday’s beating sun wasn’t enough to stop rainbow hues from filling Pier 4 Park in celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
The all-day festival was one of three events Pride Hamilton held over the weekend, including two at the harbourfront park and another — a first-ever Pride Drag Brunch — at Hamilton Stadium.
“It’s been amazing,” said Alyson Cuddy, the organization’s director of operations, as she walked through a long, fenced-in corridor of vendor and entertainment booths that wrapped around Pier 4.
As of 2 p.m., Cuddy still expected this year’s Pride to be Hamilton’s biggest on record, with upwards of 10,000 people expected to visit the park by midnight.
