Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, a 36-year-old man wanted in connection with a first-degree murder, was arrested on Saturday at Montreal Trudeau Airport. He had been sought by Saskatoon Police since May 2022 following a gun battle in a residential area of Saskatoon.
Ouellet-Gendron was also wanted for multiple Canada-wide warrants related to drug trafficking and various gun offenses. His arrest was executed by the Sûreté du Québec Airport Unit, with assistance from the Mascouche Major Crime Investigation Division and the Canada Border Services Agency.
The suspect was apprehended as he was returning to Canada. In 2023, he was listed as the tenth most wanted individual on Canada's Bolo program, which aims to locate fugitives.
Currently, Ouellet-Gendron is in custody with the Sûreté du Québec. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 9 in Montreal.
