After a summer punctuated with several heat waves in the region, in its latest heat advisory issued Sunday morning, Environment Canada said daytime highs will continue to reach upwards of 35 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 35 to 40 Celsius into midweek. Article content

The heat is expected to lift Tuesday or sometime early Wednesday morning.

Residents took refuge from the temperatures of 32 Celsius Sunday afternoon by taking to local beaches at Sandbanks Provincial Park, Presqu’ile Provincial Park, Wellington Beach, and at municipal splash pads across Quinte.
