SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters worked to put out a brush fire on the side of an interstate on Saturday.

Located where Interstate 215 south and Interstate 15 meet in Murray, the fire got large enough that lanes were closed to drivers on and off throughout the day.

At first, Cpl. Luis Silva with Utah Highway Patrol said the fire closed one eastbound lane, only to confirm a few minutes later that two left lanes needed to be closed while firefighters worked on the fire.

As of noon, those two left lanes were still closed.
