TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Police Department says the suspect in a Tucson bar shooting has turned himself in.

The TPD says 23-year-old Benjamin Alberto Mendoza, Jr. surrendered at TPD Headquarters yesterday, September 4.

He was booked into Pima County Jail on a warrant for second degree murder.

The TPD said a man was killed and another was injured in the August 10 shooting at the Hideout Bar, located at 3000 South Mission Road.

The TPD said officers arrived and found 45-year-old Fred Sanchez unresponsive with gunshot trauma. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A second man, a 23-year-old, showed up at a local hospital with gunshot trauma. The TPD said that the man may have been involved in a confrontation with Sanchez shortly before the shooting.
