STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — There were five reported vehicle thefts during the week of July 28 through August 3, according to NYPD data.

Despite the recent incidents, the number of automobile thefts reported in the borough this year has continued to decline, police data shows. Car thefts reported through August 3 dropped 41% (122 vs. 206) when compared to the same period in 2024, according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures.

The database indicates that four cars and one motorcycle were stolen on Staten Island during this period — the most recent week for which statistics are available.

Here’s a look at those incidents:

On July 29, at 6 p.m., a vehicle theft was reported near Baltic Street and Bay Street in Stapleton.

On July 31, at 6 a.m., a motorcycle theft was reported near Forest Hill
