The two-month-old was treated for shaken baby syndrome after incident, detectives say
A 24-year-old Florida man was arrested this week on child abuse charges after detectives say he violently shook his two-month-old child outside a bar. Israel Rivas of Arcadia was booked into the Charlotte County jail and has since been released on bond.
The incident took place in the parking lot of the Nauti Parrot Oasis in Fort Myers, where Rivas was reportedly with friends. According to detectives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, Rivas had agreed to stay outside with the infant.
