EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Evansville Police Department and the Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation hosted a dog adoption event at Vann-Pollack Park on Sunday.

The event, called "Puppies and Police," aimed to connect the community with local police officers, while promoting animal adoption.

Authorities shared on Facebook that the event provided an opportunity to meet adoptable dogs, engage with local parks officers, and enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere.

Residents were encouraged to attend if they were considering adopting a dog or wanted to learn more about local animal services and public safety.

The event took place from noon to 2 p.m. and we will have coverage on the event tonight on 44News at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
