Benji was 10 years old when he found himself surrendered at the SPCA serving Erie County. A large, mixed breed dog with white fur creeping into his muzzle, his owners moved to a new home and weren’t able to take him with them.

The mixed-breed puppy adopted by an East Aurora woman sent the SPCA Serving Erie County's social media into hyperdrive.

Kim Rodriguez and her daughter Isabella live just around the corner from the SPCA in West Seneca. They already have a house full of animals and aren’t in the market for a new addition, but hate to think of the animals sitting at the shelter without a family to call their own.

So Thursday, the three of them got together for a no-strings-attached playdate.
