FARGO — Lincoln Carpetland Rugs pitcher Jack Ohler looked at catcher Landon Moser, both threw their gloves to the side and the pair jumped and hugged one another with their teammates not far behind.

The Rugs defeated the West Fargo Patriots 6-3 in the American Legion baseball Central Plains Regional championship Sunday at Starion Bank Field.

“It’s great,” Lincoln third baseman Lewis Cockle said.

The Rugs advanced to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, N.C. for the first time since 2023. Lincoln finished second place in the ALWS that season.

“To see them be rewarded for everything that they put into this game is a pretty surreal experience for me as their coach,” Lincoln head coach Mychal Lanik said.
