SALT LAKE CITY — After first being reported on Thursday, the Uinta Mountains Beulah Fire reached 1,723 acres on Saturday.

The Utah Fire Info said at least 184 personnel were helping to fight the fire , including the use of two scooper planes and helicopters.

According to the UFI, firefighters may have challenges fighting the fire due to the rocky terrain in the area and because of fire-weakened and dead trees. Although, the UFI said it hopes to have less wind in the area over the weekend while firefighters work with lower-than-normal temperatures.
