Oswego, N.Y. — A boil and conserve water advisory for parts of the city of Oswego has been extended and could last through next week, officials said.

The advisory is for the southwestern section of the city. Residents should prepare for the advisory to last through Friday, officials said.

Crews are continuing to repair a water main break reported late last Thursday.

Residents should boil tap water for at least one minute before drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth or preparing food, officials said. Bottled water approved by the state Health Department can also be used.

Residents also should conserve water, such as by not watering a lawn or running sprinklers.

Officials said anyone with questions can call 315-343-8481 or 315-349-3557.
