LEEDS, Ala. —

Protesters in Irondale took to the streets this morning to support Giovanna Hernandez, a Leeds woman detained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), after being stopped for speeding last Tuesday.

Hernandez is currently held in a Louisiana facility, and her family continues to receive support from the community.

A meeting at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Leeds Sunday focused on community solidarity and guidance during this difficult time.

Clergy helped inform people about what to do if faced with a similar situation involving ICE detention.

The church also held a Mass and all prayed for the family.
