HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than 25 dogs and dog/human teams are competing in Hawaii’s only pet surfing competition next week.
The Raising Cane’s “Going to the Dogs SurFUR ComPETition” is marking its 10th anniversary as part of the nonprofit watersports and cultural festival, Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest.
Co-founder and organizer Kelli Bullock Hergert, Devyn Lum and his dog Ozzie, joined HNN’s Sunrise to talk about the event.
The event honors the life and legacy of athlete Duke Kahanamoku, who surfed with his dogs with his family in Waikiki.
