MILWAUKEE —

Flash flooding in Milwaukee forced multiple drivers to abandon their vehicles after becoming trapped in rising waters near American Family Field.

The flooding occurred early Sunday on Miller Park Way in southeast Wisconsin, where severe weather created dangerous driving conditions.

Brian Alvarez was driving west on Miller Park Way when his vehicle suddenly became submerged. "Driving, driving through. And then just out of nowhere, we just walked into the, you know, the puddle," Alvarez said. Water quickly filled his vehicle.

Some motorists had to escape through their sunroofs to reach safety as floodwaters rose. Stranded drivers attempted to warn approaching vehicles while waiting for emergency assistance.
