HONOLULU (Island News) – A man was arrested following an apparent murder incident that occurred in a store parking lot on Saturday night.

According to police documents, the incident occurred at the Safeway located on 1234 S. Beretania St. at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Documents reported that a 54-year-old man and a 41-year-old man, who were apparent acquaintances, got into an argument.

Witnesses told police that the 41-year-old man allegedly shoved the 54-year-old man in the chest, which caused him to fall backward and hit his head on the curb.

The 54-year-old man then became unresponsive and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

The 41-year-old man was arrested for Murder in the Second Degree at 10:45 p.m.
