WAHIAWA, Hawaii (Island News) -- An alleged shooter is in custody after an individual was hospitalized in a shooting that took place at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam's (JBPHH) Wahiawa Annex on Saturday.

The shooting occurred within the housing area of the Wahiawa Annex at 5:45 p.m. The suspect shot an individual who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

According to officials, the one victim in this incident was identified as a 23-year-old man.

On Sunday, officials confirmed that the 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital where he later died.

It was also reported that the suspect was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade.
