GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - The Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society is gearing up for the 25th annual Buddy Walk to raise awareness for Down syndrome.

On Sunday, society members walked families through fundraising, registering teams, and navigating a new website.

Maureen Neumann is a board member with the Gulf Coast Down Syndrome Society.

“To see all of our community show up and support is the best biggest blessing because that shows us that they care and that they see our individuals with down syndrome as they are, as people, as people who are giving back to the community, who are being celebrated, who are raising awareness, it’s just a joy,” she said.
