A new 56-hour yellow heat alert is about to be issued for Coventry and Warwickshire . The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) in partnership with the Met Office will put the alert in place from this morning (August 11).
It is for all regions across the country except the North East and North West. The alert will be valid from 10am until 6pm on Wednesday (August 13).
The yellow alert warns that 'significant impacts' are possible across the health and social care services due to the high temperatures. This includes a risk of death in the elderly and vulnerable.
The heat health alert comes as Coventry and parts of Warwickshire are set to swelter in 33C heat tomorrow (August 12). The Mercury is set to hit 33C at 6pm tomorrow evening.
