Gilbert’s effort to market itself got some national recognition recently.
The town earned its first Destination Marketing Accreditation Program accreditation by Destinations International, an international trade association for organizations that promote communities as dynamic places to visit, live and work.
The town’s tourism brand, Discover Gilbert, earned the accreditation, signifying Gilbert has met tourism industry’s best practices standards for performance and accountability worldwide.
The accreditation marks a milestone for the town’s tourism leadership team, which works under the Gilbert’s Office of Economic Development.
