Kid Cudi has been incredibly open about his dependency on drugs and the suicidal thoughts he’s had during the various stages of his life.

Through his vulnerable expression, his music has even helped those who might have gone through the same thing feel less alone.

Now, the “Day n’ Night” rapper is attempting to connect with fans once more with his upcoming “ Cudi the Memoir, ” which will be released Aug. 12.

GQ got a look at the book and shared a chilling excerpt in which the rapper detailed the not-so bright spots when it came to his fame, including a near-fatal drug overdose while working on “Man on the Moon II” back in 2010.
