TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—A disturbance in the eastern tropical Atlantic is expected to become a tropical depression within the next day or so, the National Hurricane Center announced.

An area of low pressure located near the northwestern Cabo Verde Islands is producing showers and thunderstorms that show signs of organization.
As the disturbance moves westward, it is likely to become a tropical depression within the next day or so.
If a tropical depression does not form over the next day or so, environmental conditions appear favorable for later development, the NHC said.
A tropical depression or tropical storm could form by the middle to late part of the week as it moves westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlanti
