The closure of the A46 to allow works for HS2 has been postponed until October. The dual carriageway was meant to shut overnight this weekend, on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17.
So far, the high-speed rail developers have constructed a box structure to take the railway line under the A46 in Kenilworth , which was built adjacent to the carriageway.
In April, the structure was moved into place using a 'box push' technique to align with the current carriageway. HS2 says the move had less impact on road users and only installed traffic management on the A46 'when essential'.
HS2 is currently completing the final utility connections. However, work has been postponed due to a delay in a utility connection. HS2 plans to complete the works in October. HS2 said: "We are completing
