OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A vehicle was pulled from a creek after a pursuit and two crashes in Omaha on Saturday.
In a report to First Alert 6, OPD says an officer clocked a Jeep SUV going 84 mph in a 55 mph zone near 132nd and Dodge streets at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The officer tried catching up with the Jeep at 90th and Dodge, OPD says. After it sped off and wrecked with another car at Pacific Street, a pursuit began.
The Jeep later left the road and crashed into the Big Papillion creek near 90th and Center streets. It became completely submerged.
It took the Omaha Fire Department and a tow company about 12 hours to get the Jeep out of the creek. The vehicle was extracted around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the report states.
OPD says a man was found nearby “soaked from being in the water.” He
