NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A woman faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident that seriously injured a man near the Whites Creek area on Saturday.

According to an arrest affidavit, a woman driving a black pickup truck hit the man after running a stop sign at the intersection of Knight Drive and Brook Manor Drive.

The man’s lower right leg was detached from his body, according to the affidavit. Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department said when they arrived at the scene, the victim was receiving treatment from Nashville Fire Department personnel.

The man was rushed to Skyline Medical Center’s Trauma Unit.
