Israel’s ambassador to Australia says the Jewish state is not starving Palestinians in Gaza, as he again criticised Anthony Albanese’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state as the war continues.
In a tense interview on ABC TV’s 7.30 with host Sarah Ferguson, Ambassador Amir Maimon rejected the reasons the Prime Minister put forward on Monday to join other Western countries in announcing the decision on Palestine.
And he pushed back at the perception that Israel was allowing children to starve.
“There is no starvation policy,” Mr Maimon told the program.
