A multi-day heat event is set to continue in southern Ontario until Tuesday, and may stick around until Wednesday in some areas, said Environment Canada.

Daytime temperatures will peak between 32 to 35 C on Monday, but with humidity it could feel more like 37 to 42, said a heat warning from the national weather agency.

Overnight lows on Monday are expected at 20 to 23 C.

"A cooler air mass is expected to arrive Tuesday night, bringing an end to this heat event," said Environment Canada's warning.

But the heat and humidity may last into Wednesday for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, as well as eastern Ontario, said the agency.
