If you recently purchased sugar cookies at Target, officials are warning they may have bits of wood in them, a recall notice states.
Give and Go Prepared Foods Corp., based in Canada, issued the voluntary recall for the Favorite Day Bakery Frosted Sugar Cookies on July 22, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Favorite Day is a private label brand sold at Target .
The recall applies to hundreds of cases of the sugar cookies distributed across 20 states and Washington, D.C., for potential contamination by a "foreign material." Michigan were among those receiving the product, the FDA's notice said.
The recall is classified as a Class II recall , meaning the product "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences," according to the FDA.
